Matt, a Cypriot rescue, was rehomed about 4 months ago. A lump was found on his flank, which burst. The referring vets surgically removed the capsule left behind and sent swabs and the capsule to external laboratory for diagnosis. Both results came back with nothing. The surgical site started to break down, despite a course of antibiotics, leaving Matt with a hole on his flank.

He was referred to Dr Azzurra Maso for further investigation. A CT scan was performed of his chest and abdomen to search for any foreign body materials that may be the cause. Dr Azzurra took further swabs of the hole, during swabbing she found a large pocket tracking up along his side.

The images are being examined so we can make a plan going forward for Matt. We will keep you posted on his journey.
