About - Veterinary Referral and Emergency Centre

The Veterinary Referral Centre provides a premium referral service to companion animal vets in the UK and across the world.

We provide veterinary surgeons, their clients and patients with state of the art surgical, medical, cardiorespiratory and diagnostic imaging assistance including X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations and interpretation.

Excellence of service and veterinary care are the cornerstones to successful practice. We are a 2-vet surgery that offers our clients the added value of Bernard’s specialist expertise in x-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI. We have been referring increasing numbers of cases to Bernard over the past several years with superb results. Our patients get cutting-edge technology, our clients see a friendly face and get treated as individuals while we get rock-solid diagnoses and opinion on case management. I see this sort of quality care as the future of our great profession and Bernard is an integral part of that plan.

I am a veterinary surgeon practicing alone. I have little time and limited diagnostic imaging expertise to do it all properly myself.

Bernard Walsh has been a life-saver both literally and metaphorically. Bernard is providing for my patients an expert, reliable and thorough diagnostic support and also provides me with invaluable guidance for treatment options and prognosis. He is a mine of knowledge.

Bernard is extremely approachable as a person both for my clients and myself. I have always promptly got a referral report back often the same evening. Bernard is very generous with his time, he has accommodated cases in as extras, either at the beginning or end of his day, when they were serious or urgent enough. I have his home and mobile number and have used it on a few occasions when it has been critical.

I can recommend all veterinary colleagues to tap into Bernard’s wealth of knowledge, expertise, experience and enjoy his fantastic attitude.

I wanted to tell you that the film-reading evening you ran on 2nd Dec at Caterham was excellent. It is just what the area needs – having not practised close enough to a University to attend film reading sessions, I have often felt this would be beneficial. So for me, excellent CPD and I hope you can continue them – please keep me on the list.

For a number of years I have used Bernard Walsh’s specialist skills in veterinary imaging. My clients always tell me that they are very happy with Bernard’s manner and communication skills. I am always happy with his thorough investigation and timely reports. He has everything that’s wanted from a referral specialist. He is at the forefront of his field and he treats me and my clients very well. Bernard, I wish you many more years of success in my neighbourhood.

Our French Bulldog Bruno visited today after being referred from his usual amazing vets. From the moment I got there I was treated so kindly by the 2 lovely ladies at the reception area. They made me feel welcome and comfortable. Next, I met John. Who I had a long chat with and who assessed Bruno. John was able to tell me what Bruno is likely to have. He explained to me with great detail with likelihood and unlikelihoods, pros and cons and possibilities of what could happen during & after he’s procedure. He is very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable leaving Bruno in his care as I knew he was in such good hands.
Bruno had an MRI scan and the outcome was what we expected. He is on antibiotics and is safe at home, with us, he’s family.
I could not fault John, the lovely receptionists and the lovely nurse that bought Bruno out enough.
What a lovely, generous and caring team.
I’d recommend this centre to anyone.
Thankyou once again!!
